Mad props to the Yankees this year. A hell of a season (which will hopefully end in a 3 game sweep in the ALDS).

With the Rays and the Indians tied for the second AL Wild Card spot...here's a breakdown of their final 9 games

    Rays:
4 Homes games vs. Red Sox
    2 Home Games vs Yankees
3 Road games vs. Blue Jays

    Indians:
    3 Home games vs. Phillies
3 Road games vs. White Sox
    3 Road games vs. Nationals

Not sure how the Indians are still playing interleague games the last week of the season. That's a major disadvantage and that Nationals series could be brutal as they too are in the fight for playoff positioning. Rays are playing three teams in which they know very well, have scouted all season. Indians are playing two teams they know nothing about.

Not to mention, Red Sox, Yankees and Blue Jays have nothing left to play for so the Rays are unfortunately probably in the better spot here.

My Guess: Indians/Rays finish with a tied record and they play a play-in game for the 2nd Wild Card spot.

There's a lot of great stats on this. My favorite is that they have a -8 run differential against the Marlins despite winning five out of seven games against them.

Yeah TB certainly has a much easier schedule with only the Yankees possibly giving them a fight since they want home field advantage. I could see them going at least 6 and 3 in their last 9 games.

I would love to see a tie for the 2nd wild card spot, would be pretty cool getting an additional do or die play in game. Ditto for the NL too.

Unfortunately with the odd number of teams in each league, there pretty much has to be an interleague series at all times of the season. You would think they would line up the ones at the end of the year with teams they don't expect to be in playoff races, but I guess it's not that easy sometimes.
