Don’t you think they need to give that Ynoa kid another shot at closing? He had pretty wicked stuff and touched 99 on a few different pitches. At least try something different until we can (hopefully) trade for one. It’s hard to get too upset with Jackson when he’s just not a true closer. Incredibly, Snit continues to throw him in there, along with Minter - who nearly blew it AGAIN today.

 

I don’t even know what the fuck is happening with the Phillies. Fire Gabe? I guess. This is depressing.

The love the Cards have given Pujols all weekend has been so great. It can be hard to remember given how much Pujols has declined that he was an absolute force for a decade with St. Louis.

He slashed .328/.420/.617 over 11 years, good for a 170 OPS+. He was stupid elite and played good defense! Those are legendary numbers.

 

I think this crowd would welcome a blowout if it got Pujols to the plate again lol

 

I don't know if I've ever seen Trout disagree with an umpire like that

 

There's nobody I'd like to defend less than Angel Hernandez but i saw no issue with the two called strikeouts on Trout lol

 

Yeah. Something needs to change. Jackson always has a dicey inning. Always. They said something the other night that he hasn't had a 1-2-3 inning since like May 10th or something. I'd like to see Ynoa a few more times though before I'd put him in a high pressure situation. But he looked pretty good that game a few days ago.

Also, they called up Sobotka. lol. That dude is the right handed Minter. Those two back on the big league roster just makes me nervous as hell.

 

If Mickey Callaway is still the manager of the Mets by the end of tomorrow, it just shows how incompetent this team is.

Having said that, I fully expect him to still be the manager of the Mets by the end of tomorrow.

Honestly, I think it goes beyond Gabe. Gabe is absolutely deserves blame, but I think Chris Young should absolutely go and so does Mallee. How Klentak thought this team was set was beyond me.

 

Yeah this current free fall really is something else. I’m curious how everything gets handled with the all star break coming up
