Wow Price was freaking nails in Game 5. I'm happy for the guy, well earned W. I'm completely shocked that he pitched 6 scoreless with 9 Ks and 0 BB on 3 days rest and throwing so much in the pen the night before. It was huge for the Sox to end the series last night. Not only did it stop any potential momentum the Astros might have picked up but it gives the pitchers 4 days of rest and the Sox can reset their rotation for the WS.

This is a really likable Red Sox team so I really hope they have 4 more wins left in their tank in 2018.

I'm pulling for the Brewers tonight because Game 7s are a lot of fun when you don't have a horse in the race.

 

Apparently Price said that he figured something out and flipped a switch in the bullpen the night before. Don't know if it was mental or a physical adjustment or what but good for him

 

Price is probably going to play so much fortnite these next few days

 

Curious what Cora does with J.D. Martinez in the NL. I assume it'll be Mookie in Center with J.D. in right, but I would LOVE Mookie at 2b.

He played there like half a game this year right? I have no gauge of his talent at 2b but that would be crazy to me putting someone that doesn't regularly play infield there in a WS game.

 

He came up as a second baseman before they converted him to center field, and then eventually right field. He hasn't played it in a while, but he def has experience there.

Mookie had a 70 something game on base streak in the minors as a 2b

 

Yeah I know he was a 2b in the minors

 

431 games in the Minors at 2b. Last time he played there for any meaningful duration was 2014.

 

mookie at 2b is definitely the all-out offensive lineup but who knows how comfortable he'd be there. wish JD could play first

 

I distinctly remember watching Mookie's first MLB game against the Yankees. He was like instantly likeable lol

Sox will put Mookie in CF, Martinez in RF with JBJ sitting until they use him as a defensive replacement in the later innings.

 

They better have a ten run lead if they are taking Martinez, Betts OR Benny out of the lineup.

 

The Sox can't take Mookie or JD's bat out of the line up and I'd be surprised if they sat Benny for JBJ, so he becomes the odd man out. They had to do it in 2007 and 2013 having to put Ortiz on 1st and taking Youk and Napoli out of the line up. Stinks that the NL still has the pitchers bat but it is what it is.
