If Didi had stayed healthy he'd be going for his third 30 hr, 100 rbi season next year. Instead has none. When you consider how much time players have missed last two years they definitely aren't gonna hesitate on Machado now

Or they could re-sign Neil Walker lol

Edit: Phillies can still go crazy spending on Machado though. It's no guarantee

 

A little different since catchers throw after every pitch but Christian Vazquez missed a full season after TJ. I think I saw something where Boone said they’re expecting him back in the summer.

 

Gotcha. Yeah and Gleyber was like 6 months on his non-throwing. Prob somewhere in between that and a full year so who knows. Definitely a significant amount of time.

If they sign Machado, where does Didi play when he returns? Or does this involve a trade of Andujar when Didi returns? If I'm running the Yankees, I'm focusing my payroll flexibility on an actual ace SP. They played 5 post season games this year and the best performance was a 5IP, 3H 1BB 4K effort from Tanaka, which is about the baseline for what you need from your starters to win a series.

 

I mean if I'm in charge pitching is the priority too. The only real ace out there is Kershaw if he opts out and I doubt the Dodgers let him get away. There's a ton of relievers out there, they're losing Britton and Robertson (I think someone will give him closer money) but I hope they get Corbin and Charlie Morton would be good to go after if he keeps playing.

 

So Rothschild could catch nothing for like half a season... And they're bringing him back. Cool
