Home plate ump in this Pit-Bos game is crazy inconsistent lol

 

Down 3-2 to the Yanks. Facing Betances (fuuuuuuckkkkk) in the 8th. But wait...a walk, then a single. Men at the corners, with no outs. Yeeeee! A light. Hope. The proverbial flower growing in a dump. Here we go boys!

I didn't think we were getting out of that at all. Not with Yankee killer Longoria due up. I wish they'd just walk him every single time lol

 

Yeah, wish he woulda come through for the Rays there. Both him and KK just froze up on the pitches that were dead set strikes.

I was also surprised to hear it was only the first time the Rays had been swept in Yankee Stadium since '09. I just assumed everyone has swept us at least once in the road on the last three seasons lol.

 

So far, it seems like the only consistent thing about the umps in every game is how inconsistent they are.

 

Can anyone recommend any baseball podcasts?

 

I am FULLY expecting as soon as the guys feet touch the dirt in the new stadium WE WILL WIN EVERY SINGLE GAME FOREVER UNTIL BASEBALL DOESN'T EXIST ANYMORE.

Effectively Wild, Jonah Keri occasionally has great baseball related guests and most teams have a podcast specific to them (Braves have Talking Chop and Road To Atlanta).

I don't really like Jonah keris new podcast, I loved the grantland one but this one was kinda eh for me.

 

Ellsbury is cleanup tonight. Like I don't even know

 

I find that it's entirely dependent on the guest. Jonah himself is fine, but not good enough to carry a whole podcast if the guest isn't that interesting to me. Also, his audio quality always sucks and I don't understand that at all.

Effectively Wild is top tier, though. The last few months before Sam left were really, really good. Jeff Sullivan is great as well of course
