Yeah I know but I got him way way low in the draft and figured I'd get to use him eventually

Anyone watch MLB.tv on their computer? I hate that they got rid of the stand alone player and force you to use the web browser. Like, I am legit mad. lol

I always just used the browser anyways. But tbh I had no idea there was a player.

You guys think it will ever come to players wearing full- or half-cages?

Yea, not sure how long you've been using MLB.tv, but it used to be only a player. Last year they tried to press the browser on you, but there was a button to go to the "old player." I guess that was them phasing it out and its completely gone now. I wonder why they discontinued it.

Eh, I don't know about that. He gets the job done, but he usually walks a guy or gives up a hit in a lot of appearances. Not saying he should be a robot, but he makes things interesting.

Agreed 100%. One of my all-time favorite rants was when Bruce Drennan dedicated the first 20 minutes of one of his shows following a Borowski blown save going OFF on him.

"And they said what I did was bad, BOROWSKI IS THE ONE WHO SHOULD BE IN PRISON."

Rockies have a legitimate chance at a WC this year, however, let's see how they play next series against a legitimate team(LAD)

It's the new purple jerseys... they're distracting.

Ugh, Bruce Drennan's show is terrible. I don't understand how it's still a thing haha. I remember people used to mess with Chuck Galeti a lot on Last Call. The one line I remember from one of his rants was when he told a caller, "I've spilt more than you've sipped pal".

Yeah, it's so bad. I haven't watched it in probably 8 years. My friends and I would watch it in college (back when it first came on STO in like 2005 or 2006) and would always call the show just to get him riled up with stupid suggestions and bad trade ideas.

I would love some polling data on how every team's fan base feels about their respective closer. It always feels like people fundamentally don't trust their closer, even when they're very good. It reminds me of hockey and goalies to a certain extent.

The days of Kimbrel closing games out for the Braves was just the best. Now the whole damn bullpen is suspect, ha.

I generally feel really good about Cody Allen. I don't think he has the most dominant stuff, which shows when he gives up a run or a few hits. That said, I think he likes the pressure of closing and likes to compete. He also doesn't get rattled. So those other intangibles overcome not having the best stuff for a closer and allows him to be pretty damn effective. I would certainly take him over Mesa, Jackson, Wickman, Borowski, and Perez. He's probably the best closer I've seen in my time watching the Indians.

To be clear, in both my posts about Cody Allen, I did say 'he gets the job done.' I agree though, you'd probably find most fan bases feel uneasy about their closer just because the nature of their position. ANY small mistake they make can cost you a ballgame so everything is magnified. I stick with what I said though that Cody Allen typically finds a way to let a guy on either via walk or base hit. To @Michael Schmidt's point though, he never comes unglued, which helps him stay mentally focused despite pitching with runners on in a close game.

I have no uneasiness about Chapman closing. Definitely did with Betances but I think most of his problem was just being worn down at the end of the season so it was hard to judge. Miller was great obviously. Robertson I had a little uneasiness with. And then of course there was Rivera. Felt pretty good about him lol.

I never liked Familia much, I'll always remember watching a game before I really cared about baseball and watching him walk in the winning run that game. I know he's a pretty great closer now, and I do trust him to close out our games, but I've never been a fan of his. Add on the domestic abuse charges and now I can't wait till he's off my team. Reyes too.

That said, I'm going to the game tonight. So excited to watch Colon have his first appearance against us after leaving. And someho I still haven't watched deGrom pitch live. This last hour of work is going way too slow, I just wanna get to the ballpark already.
