This is less than ideal. There's still plenty of time but the Sox really needed a strong showing from Sale.

 

Kinda wish we went with Pomeranz in game 1 with Price outta the pen. Pom has been so much better over the last month than Sale. Pretty disappointed but I get why they started him game 1. He’s just been roasted by this Houston team.

Honestly, Houston feels like the Boston Strong 2013 WS Team. When a community is hit by tragedy, it’s almost like destiny course corrects to give the hurting city something to come together around. I hope Houston wins the WS if Boston can’t get hot.

Agreed. Pomeranz has had the hot hand but you have to go with your ace here. Boston's pen has been deceptively good this season so hopefully they can stop the bleeding and give the offense some time to get back in the game. Hoping Pomeranz helps right the ship tomorrow.

I definitely get the feeling that this Astros team is similar to the 2013 Sox. And as frustrating as it is seeing Sale get lit up it really is impressive watching Altuve.

I hope so. It would be the most Red Sox thing, historically speaking, to win back to back AL East divisions for the first time ever, and get swept in back to back postseason appearances after both division wins. /drinks

Really is something feeling better about their old wild card teams than these last two division winners. Though those teams had Manny, Ortiz, Pedro, and Varitek so hahaha
