That play yesterday with Santana going for an inside-the-park homer was probably the single most exciting play of the day (even though he was called out at home).

It was a great game to get to though...the city just had a different feel about it, like it was a playoff game. The patios outside of Clevelander and Panini's were both pretty full at 10:30 AM on a Wednesday which was pretty nice to see!

The Jay Bruce homer was huge to swing the momentum back in Cleveland's direction.

It's always fun seeing opposing players and managers ejected!

The sprinklers going on in the outfield (I believe in the bottom of the 5th?) was kind of bizarre and funny.

Perez's homer was big to give some extra breathing room. He's been hot lately!

I'm going to try to get down there against on the 28th for the day game against the Twins.

I probably jinxed the streak by buying tickets for tomorrow night, tbh.

The most nervous I was about going to the game yesterday was watching the game at home on Tuesday night!

Trying to give benefit of the doubt, but unless Farmer typically has the nastiest late breaking two-seamer ever, that sure looked like some fake attempt to catch that pitch.

    Opinions?

It just looks like a really bad catching attempt to me. I didn't get to watch the game live so I don't know the overall context.

I hope that it wasn't intentional.

I'd lean towards it being an accident, but the timing of it wasn't great (after McCann and Ausmus getting tossed)

Oh, that is why this is a thing. Interesting. I didn't realize the Tigers had players ejected yesterday. I was only tracking the score at work.

Ok...yeah and Yandy Diaz came up two batters later.

Right after Bruce got walked, Santana walked on 4 straight pitches to load the bases. So Farmer was probably a bit frustrated too.

Like I said, I don't think it was intentional (just giving Detroit the benefit of the doubt), but the circumstances surrounding it weren't great.

Yeah, I find it hard to believe they intentionally went at the umpire. How is there even a sign for that? It would get more interesting if there was a mound discussion before that Diaz at bat.

Just looks so off to me. The ball is literally to his glove and then just wildly stabs to the left almost after it's past him. Idk as with most of these things I suppose we'll never really know lol.

Let's not forget, that catcher was literally just brought into the game a few seconds before this all happened because McCann was ejected. So I HIGHLY doubt they'd bring in their back-up catcher and right away have him intentionally miss a pitch to hit the umpire.

I didn't think it was intentional at all.

To be honest, I more so bought tickets because at the time, I felt strongly it'd be a night where we could clinch the AL Central. We still could, but Minnesota would have to lose tonight and tomorrow (with Indians winning both)...but was really hoping Twins would have lost last night.

Ideally, I would have bought tickets for Saturday because that'd be the more likely clinch, but my wife and I have a party that night.

Yeah I mean it doesn't make sense. I'd like to think it doesn't make sense. Maybe I'm just skeptical of the Tigers since the Yankees brawl, but I'm still giving benefit of the doubt haha. Just was interested in opinions cause that was one awkward looking cross-up.
