I have no problem admitting that I'm one of those fans (and this is coming from the son of a season ticket holder). Unless it's a playoff or a world series game, I have a hard time going to a non-intense regular season baseball game these days. I used to go to 10-15 games a year but not anymore. I much prefer to watch the games on TV, which I do every night. I just have a hard time going to a game, and not knowing when I'll be home. Going to a baseball game, earliest you'll get home is like 10:30 and it could even be more toward 11, 11:30.

Last year, I didn't go to any games until two in September, but then went to all the playoff/world series games (sans Game 2 of ALCS due to being in a wedding). Obviously, for playoff games, I'm not concerned about staying out late on a work night or when I'll get home because those are 'you have to be there' type games.

I typically go to 30-40 Cavs games per year but I much more enjoy seeing a basketball game live than I do a baseball game. I just prefer to watch baseball on TV, for the most part.

I'm there with you haha. I much prefer to watch other sports live than baseball. I think it's better on tv as well. I wasn't trying to talk down to anyone, but just acknowledging the reality that we don't have great attendance for how good we've been recently.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I saw a FB comment that Cleveland was I think 24th in attendance? Was surprising to me considering coming off a WS appearance and having another really good team, since I remember that big Jacob's Field sellout streak

Part of that sellout streak was from a lack of not having the Browns in town to cheer for. Cleveland is Browns first. Those '90s teams were great and helped shaped my baseball fandom, but you have to acknowledge that aspect contributing to the buzz. The Jake was also still new at the time as well and was no longer in a football stadium. Combine that with a stacked offense and lots of come from behind wins and it was a lot of fun.

I stopped listening years ago, but I'd bet my entire house that most of the Cleveland Sports Talk Radio today is talking about the Browns instead of the Indians historic streak.

I don't know how you do that. I really enjoy watching basketball live, but Cavs tickets are so expensive for solid tickets. My 20-game pack with the Tribe are for solid tickets in lower reserved outfield and cost under $800 for two tickets. I enjoy it just as a night out in (mostly) great weather with good stadium food. Can't wait to get playoff tickets again though. I got tickets to every game until the World Series, but, being a season ticket holder this year, I should be good in getting them this year.

Yeah. As it was pointed out, they became a much bigger draw since the team was good, the Browns left and the Cavs were horrible. I think there's still as much fanhood, but that 162-game, 6 month stretch just makes it tougher to hold that at every game.

Still, the new capacity is the second least in the majors. The max capacity is listed around 35,000, but that's usually only for the playoffs. Real capacity is about 32 - 33,000 and they're averaging 24,784. They don't have percentages listed for attendance, but their percentage is right up there with the Dodgers and Yankees. Hell, the most impressive one is that the 29th-ranked Giants are still almost selling out every night.

My dad has been a season ticket holder for 30+ years (for Cavs and Indians), so I go to a ton of games with him. A lot of my friends are season ticket holders too, so I just always find Cavs tickets really easily. I'm definitely lucky.

Down by 1 for 2/3 of an inning. Ugh. The weakness from the Indians today.

Definitely not a sellout today. Pretty decent amount of people here but some empty sections.
