lolol. Let’s award the mvp based on how much money they make. Just give the Rookie of the Year the MVP award as well. No matter what.

Rays can’t figure out anything offensively against the tigers which is absolutely egregious. Wasting two incredible starts from Morton/Yarbrough

Edit: it’s the top of the 9th and they have now been shut out for 25 straight innings

  7. Anyone have success getting around MLB.tv's blackout restrictions using a streaming device and VPN? My wife and I decided to cut cable and I'm trying to figure out how I can use MLB.tv to continue watching my hometown Orioles (yes I'm aware of the ridicule I'm opening myself up to here). I've never used MLB.tv, a streaming device, or a personal VPN, so I've been doing a lot of research to try to find the best option for my family while keeping baseball in play.

My first plan was to get an Amazon Fire Stick and use the native MLB.tv and NordVPN apps, but now I'm seeing sites that say that it's not possible to get around the MLB.tv blackout restrictions while using a Fire Stick, even with VPN. Currently going down the rabbit hole of tons of different options that all have their pros and cons. Just wondering if anyone else here has any tips.

Using mlb.tv on my laptop + VPN = success. Otherwise, it seems much more difficult to successfully get around the blackouts. Can’t do it on my iPhone or iPad.

  11. Thanks! Yeah I'm seeing the same thing. I really enjoy being able to have the game on the TV while using my laptop for other stuff (doing this right now, in fact), so I was hoping to be able to figure out a way to do it without involving the laptop. It's starting to seem like that might not be possible.

  12. Yep, I do it a few times a year. Works fine here.

To use it with something like an Amazon Fire Stick, on your television, you'd need to set it at the router level. That's a little more complicated and annoying. But, there are preconfigured routers out there with VPNs in mind (example).
Force quit the app. Make sure location services are turned off for the app. Activate the VPN. Then it should work.

I use it on my iPad quite a bit.

  14. I think the Chromecast lets you beam from your laptop to it. I've never done it, but that may be worth looking into to avoid a router thing and then run the VPN on your laptop.

Well Braves need to hold a 2 run lead out with 9 outs to go against the Dodgers. Preparing to be disappointed again tonight.

  16. Thanks Jason! Yeah I saw that a VPN at the router level was a possibility but I'm trying to avoid that because my wife and I both work from home frequently and have to log into our companies' VPNs. I don't want to complicate our ability to get work done from home by having a VPN on the router. I'm assuming (maybe incorrectly) that it's not super easy to toggle the VPN on and off when it's at the router level. I'll look onto these links!
