cant believe derek holland was in to pitch the highest leverage situation

this is almost certainly maddon's last season managing the cubs but the front office needs to be looked at as well. getting good by drafting is fine and all especially with top 5 draft picks, but being able to develop players once you're winning is entirely different and i'm not certain the cubs are doing well in that realm relative to the top teams (astros, rays, dodgers). especially with pitching—cubs haven't developed anybody. you'd think there'd be a flukey bullpen arm but nope lol

 

Well see we wasted a 2 homer night from Freddie, a 2 homer night from Donaldson. Don’t forget the homer from Acuña also. All of these came in the 9th inning. I missed them also because...

I noticed next year Atlanta is continuing this 7:20 start time trend. I hate it. I’m up by 5:30 M-F for work and those 15 mins later they start is usually the difference in me not being able to finish the games. And the Braves always give you a finish so having to turn the game off in the 7th-8th inning a lot is tough.

 

I am preparing myself for some quiet bats from Cleveland today. Last night’s game was such a throwaway. Really hoping Civale looks good in first start in NY.
