Is Brantley hurt again? Haven't they done most of that without him? The Klu-bot is looking like he could win another CY Young.

Brantley is hurt once approx. every three weeks, generally for three weeks!!! But seriously, Ramirez is legitimately a star and it's so weird how little I hear people talk about him compared to guys who have numbers nowhere near his. Kluber is great, but I think the voters will end up picking Sale because of how dominant Sale has been with his strikeouts. Whichever they end up choosing, it won't be nearly as ridiculous as Porcello was last year.

JV was the best available pitcher on the market this deadline, and still a top pitcher in the entire league. He is going to make Houston better in the playoffs. I hope they end up winning the World Series. It blows my mind how he still has capabilities of throwing a 98 MPH fastball in the 7th inning this late in his career.

Two straight seasons the Indians have inexplicably played better w/o Brantley. It's super weird.

To be fair, Kluber missed a month of the season and still is 4th in the majors in strikeouts. He has 4 less starts than Sale. He's averaging about 10 Ks per game and is 48 Ks behind Sale.

I'm not sure if they've played better or their team is just so deep that they don't really miss a beat when he's injured. I think they'll be even better when he comes back. Plus back when he was is in the lineup, Encarnacion was still sucking it up.

Brantley has played most of the season. After all, he was an all star this year however for most of the year, Indians were underwhelming, hovering about 5-7 games over .500. Since he got injured, the Indians have really dominated.

I think they are like 15 or 20 games over .500 without him this year.

I am not saying Sale is having a better season than Kluber. But, Porcello wasn't having a better season than Verlander last year and still won the Cy Young. His major stat was wins IIRC. Sale is having the type of year where he is gaining major discussion due to his strikeouts. Something like x amount of games with 10+ K's - I forget the exact statistic. Combine that with his team's success, his very good personal stats overall, being in a big market, etc. Unless Sale falls apart the rest of the year, I think he will end up with the vote. If the season ended today, Kluber would have my vote.

Sale has been too dominant to not give it to him. No one else has been close. He has 1.5 fWAR over 2nd place Kluber. The gap between JV and Ricky was 0.1 fWAR.

Kluber is fresher and if yesterday was an indication of September being Sale's worst month again, Kluber will win it

They've done this without Brantley, Kipnis and Chisenhall. They did add Bruce, but still impressive. Still have to give much of the praise to the pitching staff though.

I mean. That's cool. I didn't say he was untouchable or above the poor outing. He's still been the best pitcher, this year.

I kind of like it on both ends too. I like that a hitter is willing to engage a pitcher during an at bat and I also like that a pitcher is willing to give it right back. I like this better than pitchers throwing at a hitter or talking junk in post game interviews.
