It's not great but it gets rid of Leake who was taking up a roster spot for younger more talented players.

And it pains me to see how bad he's become even though I was pissed he left. I wish he got a 7 year contract only because I feel like he will retire sooner.

FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

I had to look up recently the last 5 years of Ryan Howard in Philly and he was like -2.2 over that time I think. Pujols is almost at that just this year and have to figure it just gets worse. What a terrible contract for the next four years lol.

Today (I know, finally admitted it) was the day that anything remotely resembling a playoff shot for the M's died. It is known.

Like on one hand, good fucking bye, Leake. On the other, the M's were doing so good before this. Life is unfair.

AL yea I'm thinking rays ms and royald might be done.

Mariners might want to try and find some pitching

Pujols has played only six games at first. With no defensive value really in his WAR it lowers it more than Howard's was since he played the field.

  10. Kinda hope the Astros go all the way (since obviously STL is dead in the water), so they can be the team the country rallies behind and I can actually support them this time unlike in 2013 with Boston when I was all "fuck the Red Sox, worst team ever, sorry bout the bombing but fuck the Red Sox"

Astros have really struggled since the all-star break. Don't look now but Indians are only 3 games behind them for best record in the AL. At one point, they were like 15.

Houston getting back a lot of key players from injury this month.

Eh, Indians have been playing (and winning) without the best reliever in baseball (Andrew Miller) two of their starting outfielders (Michael Brantley, Lonnie Chisenhall) two of their starting pitchers (Danny Salazar, Josh Tomlin) and their starting second baseman (Jason Kipnis) for pretty much the entire second half of the season.

Correa and McCullers are on a whole different level of good than any of those players you listed.

  16. A lot of my family and two of my room mates are from Cleveland so I wouldn't hate it if the Indians made it for sure, but if those guys who are hurt come back for Houston come back and play like they played before then I think it's lights-out

I mean, Andrew Miller IS arguably the best reliever in baseball. Michael Brantley has consistently been one of the best all around players in the AL for like 5 straight years (minus last year because he only played 11 games) and Lonnie was hitting .305 with 12 homers and 51 RBIs in 187 at bats...

I also wouldn't say McCullers is on a 'whole different level' than Salazar.

Im sorry for as good as Miller is a reliever is nothing more than a compliment to a team.

All I'm trying to say is don't discount Houston because they had injuries. When they were mostly healthy they were laying waste to the AL.

He was literally the MVP of the ALCS. He received a trophy and everything. He WAS the reason the Indians got to the world series. That's not debatable, nor would I call that a 'compliment to a team.'

I'm really looking forward to a probable Boston-Cleveland rematch. Last year no one gave Cleveland a chance, myself included. I thought Boston would be the team of destiny with Ortiz.

You can't build a winner around a reliever. That's a fact. He's had one dominant year that's it. Not saying he is bad but a lot of his hype was the fact he didn't have an ego and basically pitched whenever.

One dominant year? You should stop posting about this.
