anddd the Marlins are back in it. can the rockies and dbacks hold on?

  3. I’m totally going on a road trip to at least 1 game in Arizona and 1 in Colorado now. Makes it easy that the 2 series are back to back, heh

Yankees have no chance if Kluber is going to get the line of the batters box as the outside edge of the plate wtf

As a Cardinals fan I do need to say I respect how pumped up the Brewers dugout was about an infield single in a game they were getting blown out in.

  12. Did we really just pay ther Mariners to give us a single-A infielder for Mike Leake lol wtf

Have to assume they're high on Weaver. Seems like a bad trade though

  14. Seems like a horrendous trade regardless of how good they think Weaver is/will be

If they're looking to free up money it accomplishes what they want.

Allows Flaherty a spot in the rotation along with Weaver. Allows money to be spent on Lance Lynn who is good not average at best. Finally it corrects the mistake Mozalaik made when he signed him to a 5 year deal because he lost Lynn to TJ and David Price decided to go to Boston.

yes to everything here. Sign Lynn and roll with Lynn/Martinez/Wainwright and let the Wacha/Weaver/Reyes/Flaherty battle for the final spots.

  19. I did not think about the implications it had for signing Lynn, that is an excellent point

This was a move about the future rather than the present. Honestly the Cardinals have the money to resign Lynn whether Leake is there or not. Problem is Leake doesn't fit into their long term plans and they signed him to a 5 year deal where minus the first two months of this year he's underperformed. They have glut of pitching prospects he is holding up and he is only going to get worse. Sucks they only get a no name prospect but this was a contract dump.

Feels like there's such a gap between the division leaders and wild card teams. Even if there was no play-in game where you had to use your number one, no wild card team has a chance this year

  25. The more I think about it, the more I think that the trade really isn't that great for either St. Louis or Seattle. Whatever.

Also, I'm not in the camp of Cardinals fans who hate Pujols at all, but I'd be lying if I didn't admit that this article made grin self-righteously a bit this afternoon:

Albert Pujols Is The Worst Player In Baseball
