I remember Luhnow said on the radio last week once the first deal drops a shitload of activity should start happening right away

This might have been the game when Beltran came back to Citi for the first time as a Cardinal after signing with us a few months earlier. Random tidbit.

Definitely seems like the Mets are playing for the short term here. Stroman is a FA after 2020, Kay and Richardson were their 2 top pitching prospects.

Maybe it'll work out, but I don't know, their already lowly rated farm system just got worse.

 

He does projections and writes for Fangraphs. He's someone I trust with analysis.

The trade as is seems like a win for the Mets. Didn't give up a ton for a good pitcher. But if they're also considering trading Thor/Wheeler this season, then why? Especially with Stroman only having another year of team control.

Also, Thor needs to stop throwing his sinker.

 

The only thing that's bad for the mets is, almost no way they keep him beyond next season. If they aren't good they'll deal him by next deadline. It's like "maybe next year" lol other than that it's a trade you make almost every time, I'm still surprised the jays went for it.

Wonder what they'll get for wheeler

 

Even without Garcia or Gleyber (still lol) I'm pretty sure the Blue Jays could've done better from the Yankees

Maybe the ol 'not trading in the division' bullshit

 

They really loved the other pitcher in this trade, supposedly.
