Don't get me wrong, I'm JACKED that the Indians have gone from 11 1/2 down to just 2 games in the AL Central (which is BONKERS because they made up 9 1/2 games in like, six weeks) but the Indians have been pouncing on some really, really bad teams this past six weeks. 17 of their last 25 wins came against the Tigers and Royals alone and then the other 8 wins were against the Blue Jays, Reds, Orioles, Twins (1 win) and Rangers.

They've had a cupcake schedule in June & July.

Good for them for taking advantage of the schedule but starting Tuesday, they play 20 straight games against teams with winning records, and the Indians only have 15 wins vs. teams with a winning record (second worst in the majors). The Twins have 29 wins vs teams with a winning record. So the first 20 days of August (including 4 games in MIN) will really tell us who the Indians really are and where they stand.

 

Had zero idea the Central was down to two games, I just assumed it was still around seven

I feel like the article is exaggerating their reaction a little bit, but yeah they shouldn't be complaining about letting a guy steal two bases on you without a throw either time in the fourth inning. Seven runs is a big lead, but certainly not insurmountable (except for the Pirates decrepit offense maybe ) and definitely not that early in the game.

 

Well I mean deadspin exaggerates everything and is trash haha, just the first article I saw that had the clip. Cards have blown far bigger leads. I just hate the "unwritten rules" and want them to die

 

Yeah people who stick to those unwritten rules come off sounding like cranky old curmudgeons. "Back in my day, you wouldn't do a thing like that!" Ugh.

No doubt in my mind the Braves are fixing to give up their division lead to the Nats. The Nats rotation is just too fucking good. Also, their lineup is legit. I have no idea why Bryce Harper didn’t want to play for them anymore.
