I think Tanaka's outside North America ERA is still fine, though.

 

The batters haven't had much to adjust to, but the pitching and fielding is clearly whack-a-doodle and the players are having a hard time figuring out just about everything.

 

An hour ago: can't wait for this game

Someone whose stuff is as touchy as Tanaka's was probably always the wrong choice to pitch on a trip this out of the ordinary
