I know this was a few pages ago but Beltre and Biggio's HOF candidacy got me thinking about Michael Young.

What do y'all think? Will he get in?

 

Not a chance. I'd be shocked if he cleared 5% on the ballot.

 

Baseball reference has his WAR at 24.2 so not a chance. Was a really good hitter though.

He was just very well respected

Get to the best starter in the game early. Get to one of the better relief pitchers in the game late. Execute maybe the best defensive play of the season. Closer gets a two out strikeout in the ninth AND a blown save. Amazing.

 

I'd say his chances are on par with the chances of Aubrey Huff and Vernon Wells getting elected into the hall of fame.

 

Turns out the Dbacks pitcher who got lit up for 7 runs in the sixth inning against the Cubs yesterday is a family friend's kid, I even went to his first game in Chicago (Sox) when he was with the Orioles as part of a group of like 200 people. I feel bad lol

 

man if the jays were more in it Smoak should def be getting some MVP talk. what a year

 

I don't care what pitchers they got, if Judge and Sanchez don't figure it out this team isn't doing shit

 

Altuve has to be the front runner for now for al mvp right. Obviously judge, Jose Ramirez, Betts all have shots.

 

Andrew Miller and Josh Tomlin both to the DL. Tomlin has been pitching really well lately and will miss at least six weeks. Miller was putting up good numbers (before last night) but something has definitely seemed off with him as of late. His control, especially on his slider, was way off.

Not good.

 

Judge was running away with it but he would need a hot streak to get it back. It's most likely Altuve now

 

Cleveland if you wanna beat the Yankees coming up just walk and immediately balk a runner to 2nd, because they are as useless with RISP as anybody I've ever seen right now

 

Kluber at worst has a shutout tomorrow. Great chance at a no-hitter
