Carolina Panthers select Juan Thornhill, Free Strong Safety, Virginia



I was deciding between Thornhill and Ya-Sin so the last pick helped me out a bit. Thornhill is a very well-rounded player and I'm surprised he isn't as hyped as the other safeties. I think he has the highest floor of the bunch. A very safe pick. Eric Reid is the Panthers only sure starter at safety, although I do like Rashaan Gaulden from last year's draft. Reid, Thornhill, Gaulden would give the Panthers a nice stable of safeties which has been a weakness for a long time.

Savage can also play nickel. He has great value as a third safety can that get on the field early and often.

 

Thornhill is my favorite safety in this class

Huge need. Thought about trying to move back into the first for Bradbury when McCoy went as early as he did, but chickened out. Got really lucky that Jenkins is still around.

Jaguars select Jace Sternberger, TE, Texas A&M

Jags offense really needs work. Here's a great blocker and a big red zone target. He also loves to drag defenders after the catch, gotta love that physicality.

In the passing game, new quarterback Nick Foles has always had success throwing to tight ends. It's important that we tailor our offense to HIM and not just build it any sort of way. Sternberger isn't Ertz but he will get plenty of important targets.

In the running game, good luck plugging the edge and the B gap when we run off-tackle / stretch behind Jawaan Taylor and Sternberger. If we can give Fournette that 2 yards of space to maneuver behind the line, that's when he gets dangerous and accesses his speed & power.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers select Andy Isabella, WR, UMass

The Bucs lost Humphries and DJax which shouldn't be as colossal of a loss as it is but Breshad Perriman and Chris Godwin are two of their top three. Isabella replaces what DJax gave the offense. Evans/Isabella/OJ gives three a very young and dangerous trio of unique weapons.

The Broncos need to improve their interior O-line after losing Paradis/Turner/Garcia... so why not TWO Connor McGoverns?
