Pittsburgh Steelers receive: pick #100 Carolina Panthers receive: Bud Dupree Panthers are changing their defensive scheme this offseason and need to acquire as many pass rushers as they can. Bud Dupree is a bit one deminsional but I like him and I think Rivera would get him close to his true potential.
Los Angeles Chargers select Trysten Hill, DT, UCF The Chargers need help in the trenches but while they have bad players on their offensive line, they're running a skeleton crew on defense. Corey Luiget is gone and Brandon Mebane is in his mid-30s. Hill is a staunch run defender with a ferocious kick. He's gonna need to grow up and grow up fast but if he does he should be a solid contributor and a great fit for Gus Bradley's (RIP) defense. Kansas City Chiefs select Jonathan Abram, S, Mississippi State KC is doing backflips if their board falls like this. They grab one of the top corners in the draft, sit back, and grab one of the top safeties even after a run on the position. Abram isn't top tier in his class (Chauncey and Nassir holding that crown) but he's firmly part of a crowded and talented second tier. He's fast, strong, and, most importantly for an Andy Reid DB, plays with swagger and confidence. He'll need coaching to smooth out his rough edges but if he plays as advertised at the NFL level then KC is looking real good.
Saints select Michael Jordan, G/C, Ohio State. Needed value on the OL since this is the Saints only day one or two pick. Armstead and Peat are due big money because of restructured contracts so it’s time to start thinking about cutting an aging Max Unger. Until then, Jordan can help at guard and clear wider lanes for Kamara since Ingram’s power rush attack is gone.
Kansas City Chiefs continue to do backflips as they select Deebo Samuel, WR, South Carolina He's got flaws in his game, sure, but his flaws are basically irrelevant doing what Andy Reid wants him to do. The Chiefs add another dangerous speedster to play next to (or in replacement of, I don't know what's happening there) Tyreek Hill.
Steelers take Germaine Pratt, LB, NC State. He’s got great speed which the Steelers LB corps desperately needs.
The New York Jets select: Justin Layne - Cornerback - Michigan State The Jets can't go into the season with Darryl Roberts as their only option as a #2 CB. Layne has elite size for the position and as a converted receiver, he has excellent ball skills. Layne has some flaws and he's extremely raw at the position, but he also wins in the redzone and he's had a lot of success as a boundary press corner.
