Obviously a lot can change quickly but Toronto has only 1 player signed on defense beyond this year. 5 UFA’s and 2 RFA’s. 1 RFA defenseman remain yet currently. That’s pretty crazy.
Also realizing that Binnington still doesn’t have a new contract. Hmm.... very curious to see what that ends up being.
I love listening to puck soup past few weeks and constantly everyone is cowardly to do an offer sheet. I can’t wait to hear the excitement from them this week.
By then we'd more than likely have one or both of Liljegren and Sandin in the NHL, and both of them are under contract beyond this year (in addition to Rielly).
@jorbjorb Jake Gardiner has apparently narrowed his choices down to three teams: Jets, Sabres, Habs. I hope he signs with you guys
The Jets are going to get more expensive but we're going to be worst than last year. Time to blow the whole thing up.
Gardiner has a bad back, that's likely the only reason he hasn't been signed yet. It would be good for him to be on a team like the jets, with depth there so he has a lesser load.
