Montreal is still riding the high of losing in the first round but “playing well” against a Philly team that overachieved. Bringing in Toffoli was good but they also spent a bunch of money on a backup goalie and depth players who will make them maybe half a win better. Also Nick Suzuki is apparently the second coming of Patrice Bergeron.
"The conditions are ripe for the Maple Leafs to break finally through. No offence to the Oilers, Canucks, Flames or Jets, but none of them are at the same level as the Bruins ...followed by... "Calgary will finish first in the regular season." ...then still followed by... "Montreal will reign as playoff champs." Duly noted, Rory Boylen, who unquestionably deserves his paycheck.
Yeah I mean Montreal has the best coach in the division and - at worst - the second best goalie. They don’t have any significant areas weaknesses, and their depth is good. It also doesn’t help that their best forwards are Costco-brand versions of Bergeron and Marchand.
Montreal were a very mediocre (they lost 9 more games than they won) team last year, and there’s no way they improved nearly enough to win that division. Not a chance in hell they finish ahead of Toronto, for one, and I’d be willing to bet some combination of Calgary, Edmonton, Vancouver finish ahead of them, as well.
The Habs finished a fraction of a point higher than NJ last year or else they wouldn't have even made the bubble Toffoli and Anderson are okay but they aren't game breakers IMO and Anderson's contract is awful
If the Oilers can't finish Top 4 in THAT division then they should lose McDavid to free agency immediately & not be allowed to re-sign him.
Really like that Devils team too. Elias, Gomez, Neidermayer. but fuck Scott stevens all my homies hate Scott stevens
my rankings of the ducks trilogy goes mighty ducks 2 followed by mighty ducks one and mighty ducks 3 is last place because it is not good.
I’ve never seen any of them tbh, I think the only hockey movie I’ve seen was Miracle during high school music class.
"off the floor, on the board" was a GOAT call if ESPN gets hockey back, they better bring back Thorne
