apparently Mike Futa who now contributes on Sportsnet was interviewed by the Devils for their GM job a few months back before they stuck with Fitzgerald

he was on Sportsnet the other day and said that offer sheets were one of the things that the Devils ownership group talked about when they interviewed him

if Fitz had balls, he would offer sheet Sergachev for $6.5 million AAV...there is no way Tampa could match that

 

The fact that no team has offered cernak 3-4m aav is just completely ridiculous but that’s the way it is. The league and its management have agreed to keep their athletes from getting fair salary for as much time as possible.

 

I’m honestly surprised that no one claimed Tyler Johnson. It’s not like 5m a year is a huge overpayment for that quality of player. A team like the Sens could use him

 

he really fell off a cliff this year though and its for 4 more years
