To be fair, Buffalo really did beef up with Hall and Staal coming in. I feel like with this roster, you’re basically one good move away from competing.
What if I told you they made two very bad moves on the bottom 6 prior to this and didn't even TRY to re-sign Johan Larsson?
I Get it from the Sabres POV...there is no downside and if you are out of it, you trade him at the deadline but why would Hall want to sign that deal? And you would think a better team like Nashville or Colorado would have matched that?
Buffalo is betting hard on Cozens being a good player after next year. I don't know how much Hall will command on the trade market if they go that route, but this just seems like a move to make it look like they're trying to Eichel & their fans.

Similar pace to the NJ year with Krueger but it was a short season. 16-34-50 in 45 GP in 2012-13 is roughly a 30-60 pace for a full season, so not that far off from what he put up a couple years back
