Well now that he’s out of here, I wouldn’t hate seeing Boston sign Dadonov or Craig Smith for three years, but imagining Don doing anything useful during free agency is a pipe dream
Krug just said in his presser that he hadn’t heard from the bruins in a long time - said “a year ago”
He said that the Bruins pulled their offer from a year ago. Which, honestly makes sense. The cap got flattened in that year. I don’t blame Boston for having second thoughts. Did Krug ever come back and try to re-engage negotiations later in the season? It’s similar to when Fedorov left Detroit. Detroit made him a good offer, he wasn’t in a position at that time personally to continue negotiations, and then by the time he hit UFA Detroit basically moved on and he acted like the team did him dirty. The team still hasn’t retired his number. ultimately, I don’t think either party is in the wrong. Krug could have signed a year ago. Boston could have offered him the same deal. Ultimately, it didn’t work out and he got paid by a more recent cup winner.
Congrats on getting the most underappreciated athlete in Chicago sports history. Gonna be weird as hell to see Crow in another sweater but thankfully it's not in the West
Crow and blackwood is a pretty good tandem. Devils D isn't abysmal or anything, definitely an improvement.
That was one of two targets listed for Canes yesterday. The other being Korpisalo. Curious if we'll get a trade today.
Korpisalo is not a tangible improvement over either of Carolina’s goalies. It would just be rearranging deck chairs on the titanic
No but I think they will since Krug fills the offensive d role. armstrong keeps reiterating that he’s not done with Pietro so I guess maybe they could move Dunn with a Bozak contract or something to fit him? Unlikely but crazier things have happened.
