After looking at the wings draft, I'm kind of surprised. I don't see a lot of Russian players and that surprises me. He would always brag about how much he loved Russian players during his telnure with the lightning and took them two or three rounds higher than other people had them rated. It was definitely a weaker draft for them and I would guess that's probably the reason, interested to see what he does with trades and rebuilding the team.
wow I didn't realize the devils aren't even at the cap floor, it'll be interesting to see what else they do this summer
They have to be careful though because in the next ~13 months there is a lot of money due to their own players Butcher, Zacha, Hall, Hischier, Bratt, Vatanen, Blackwood all need new deals in that timeframe. Realistically if they plan on signing all those guys, they have about $6-7 to "play with" this year by all accounts
I'm still baffled by the JT Miller trade. Get someone in FA and keep your first rounders to keep building!
it's even more baffling looking at their first round pick - a guy who's not gonna play in the league until 2 years from now (if ever) which is fine, because they're rebuilding, and then at the same time they trade away a first round pick as some sort of WIN NOW! move
