Cases in Chicago have been on the decline for weeks. So that’s my guess as to why they are in the short list. We entered phase 4 last week.

 

honestly i'm a little irritated with the way they've been handling the hub cities. Of the remaining cities, the obvious choices are 1) Edmonton and 2) Toronto.

I understand Edmonton isn't anybody's dream city, but god damn, we've checked literally every box they required from the Hub City candidates and then some for a long ass time. We have the ability to create an tight bubble that is honestly unbeatable since the major facilities are all new and connected.

The deliberation they're having to award it to anyone else in spite of surging COVID cases is just wild to me. Like what do you people want from us?

It's also a bit personal tho because the business would likely save Edmonton's events industry, which I have some personal ties to.
