Saw this on NHL.com: Players comment on calls for racial justice It's not a super extensive collection, but I doubt it's entirely comprehensive either. I particularly love Barrie's post: a Mandela quote over a picture of waves crashing onto some rocks. Truly powerful.
Blake wheeler is the only guy I’ve seen who seems like they’re actually putting effort into understanding the problem and trying to educate themselves and others.
Totally not important at all but I wonder how happy the league and Seattle owners are that they didn’t push for a 2020 season start date. I mean, 2021 might be fucked too but to spend all that money and then rush to get things ready and then covid fucks things up oh man makes me wonder if sports were still on, with the riots / protests happening would they still be going on or would they be postponed? Imagine (for basketball) if one or both LA teams were in the WCF, that would be a madhouse to have that going on and huuuuuge crowds likely gathering around the arena. And It would be like that in every city still playing on top of all the others.
Bettman wants a full season too. I would assume later start and end and maybe 2022 will be closer to "normal"
You'd think it would though. I feel like if the average American knew, it'd be their favourite sport. Who doesn't love relatable athletes.
So you think that I...a non white rangers fan...like DeAngelo? Despite the countless times I've shit talked him? Despite me literally quoting you on the last page to shit talk that his dumbass is getting a podcast? Ok
Yeah, they are wanting playoffs done quickly and then next season starts with Winter Classic... which I think is kind of neat. Since it's kind of lost it's luster being the mid season thing.
So then I'm guessing they're gonna do a shortened 2020-21 season similar to 2012-13, with 2021-22 starting at the normal time?
