Yup. Refs blew it, Russia got absolutely screwed on that.

The camera being decidedly *behind* the glass, not simply above the ice surface, is what makes this messy. The puck would invariably have gone out of play if TSN put their camera almost literally anywhere else.

Edit: Put another way - the puck cleared the glass, period, and that's where the penalty gets called. That the puck was bounced back into play after clearing the glass doesn't negate that it had in fact already cleared the glass.
