People hate joe Thornton

Look I hate him too but where is Patrick Kane

Holy hell I had no idea just how good Eichel's year was going. Could be a Hart favorite

 

I love Joe Thornton but his peak was arguably mid to late aughts

 

Would probably put Kane over Stamkos or Lundqvist

 

Honestly Wyshinky (sp) top 100 list for ESPN is pretty damn good IMO.

 

I don't know what downgoesbrowns's top 100 looks like but it's probably the best.

 

The guy who made that list was a former Detroit beat writer lol

 

Even I can admit that Kane not being on that list is horseshit.

 

He's listed at 15

15. Patrick Kane, Chicago Blackhawks. One of the best offensive players this decade. His problems off the ice will always detract from that and be a part of his story

Seems like they're in a lose lose situation....put him in the top 10 you get yelled at for glorifying an accused rapist (all while this roenick stuff is happening) or leave him out and get mocked for putting him behind players with zero cups.

On the Kane stuff... based off of what he accomplished the past decade I don’t know how he isn’t in the top 5 on every list. My personal list would have him at 3. Most points, most cups, several trophies. He also lit it up in the playoffs in each of the Hawks cup years... and he’s pretty much a PPG contributor in general in the playoffs.

Also, Seabrook situation sounds like the Hawks are finding another way out of a bad contract lol. I find that while Detroit has also taken advantage of the LTIRetirement, it’s incredibly frustrating for me to watch teams continuously sign players to long term deals that age horribly and then have them find some reason to retire early and not have to deal with it. I think I brought it up earlier and a lot of people disagreed with me, but I don’t think it should be this easy for any team to get out of a cap hit when a guy retires early or even is just out with a big injury. I’d love for the league to change the system so less of the cap hit is wiped out for injuries or early retirements.
