Buffalo is my second favorite team (lol I know) but yeah that was tough. Plus side there were two incredible prospects that year and Eichel has been very good

 

Based on a lot of decisions made this year, it certainly seems to be the case. I'll gladly take Byfield or a few of the other guys projected in the top 5 lol

 

look I love Nico and Hughes but it really sucks that the 2 years the Devils picked 1st, they weren't able to land a McDavid or Matthews

 

In a redraft would you have rather taken Pettersson or Makar over Hischier?

 

its tough to say but since we ultimately ended up with a potential #1C in Hughes, I would probably go with Makar

especially given the state of our D corps

 

I just hope we end up with a decent return for Hall. I'm assuming we'll end up with an extra 2020 1st from that deal (plus more).

if it were up to me, I'd re-sign Vatanen for ~4 years and then try to put together a package with that extra 1st for a legit top 4 LHD. Ty Smith should also be ready to step in next year as well.

 

Depending on where the devils pick this year in the first round and what the longterm outlook is, that Drysdale kid looks like he'll be a pretty good defenseman
