I tried to get @CarpetElf to start talking to a girl at a bar and he was nervous. So I literally said the same conversation-starter as I recommended him say just to prove a point and lo and behold, she responded warmly. (Which, obviously, I only was polite and moved on after that cause I’m taken.)
