That's why I put T.O. above Moss, even when things weren't going T.O. way he'd still preform at a stupid level. The issue with Moss was he'd often quit on his team.

 

Oh, no doubt he's an incredible all time "holy shit" kind of player. I meant that there were other players who played at a similar very high level for longer.

 

You know who we don’t talk about enough when we talk about Tight Ends?

Travis Kelce. That dude is every bit as crazy as Gronk, both as a blocker and receiver, he just didn’t have Brady throwing him the ball on a Super Bowl team. But now he has Mahomes and now he IS putting up insane Gronk numbers.

 

For some reason I remember LaDanian Tomlinson's career being longer than it was but it was only 1 year longer than Barry's, that's weird

 

Kellen Winslow would be the best if he played in this era

 

Probably feels that way just because I was alive for all of LDT's career

 

I love Tomlinson so much.

 

I won't put him in the Gronk tier, I can't. Gronk and Kelce are putting up similar performance levels now, but at this point Gronk is also taking hooks on like every single play. He's getting the Watt treatment while putting up those stats.

Gronk is a much better blocker than Kelce

 

Still though no one was as good as Barry haha. I say Walter Payton and Jim Brown were the only RB who had an argument they were better talent-wise. That’s about it.

I anticipate you highlighting Emmitt Smith. I love Smith, he’s definitely #4 or #5. But Smith wasn’t quite the power runner that Payton & Brown were, and while he had Barry’s feet & agility, he didn’t have his moves.

Barry was wildly intelligent with his decisions and how he would plan ahead to dodge people. He could string moves together like no one else.

I'd put Brown and Payton above Sanders, but after those top three, you could argue about 5 or so other guys. I'd put Smith next for tons of reasons though, no doubt about it.

 

We seem to have this discussion every year. Guys, we need a new fucking topic already.

 

My favorite thing to come across are people who won't allow Smith in their top five all time running backs and reading their mental gymnastics for not including him. It's hilarious.

I'm not so much of a homer where he HAS to be your #1 or anything, but saying that he can't be top five because he had a great line for 1/3 of his career or some shit is so stupid to me.

 

A lot of people say he's soft. Current and former players. I haven't watched all the film on him or whatnot, but he seems to be able to be taken out of the gameplan if you just get physical with him at the line.

 

And he's second behind Rice in career TD's.

 

Versus Gronkowski who could probably get chokeslammed at the line, get up, and make the catch

 

Smith is in my top 3

 

Gronk definitely isn't soft. He hits players laying on the ground pretty damn hard in the back of the head!

 

Gronk doesn't get any credit from me since he's a dirty player and his douchebag bro act is honestly super annoying.
