that would be the move for us, more so than trading for OBJ

 

We are leaning on 7th round / UDFA linebackers who frequently make college-level mistakes against the run, missing their gap assignment / taking poor angles.

Nigel Bradham’s play has declined and only has option years left on his contract, Kamu Grugier-Hill is set to be a free agent, and Nate Gerry sucks. Eagles desperately need a LB. This is the same team that signed Zach Brown because Jim Schwartz wanted him over Jamie Collins and then the team cut him after he got pantsed against the Vikings.

 

He cant be traded for like 3-4 months?

What happened to our LB corps is partially not our fault haha. Telvin Smith sadly has to get his life in order. If he’s on the field with Myles Jack he single-handedly elevates us up to a good LB corps and is legitimately posting better stats than those Schobert stats you posted (not an exaggeration based on his first 5 years.)

But now our best guy is way more of a finesse player who can’t really shed blocks or anchor quickly enough against the run, and everybody else flat out sucks and should not be starting. MAYBE use Quincy Williams as an extra tackler in a sub package but that’s it.

Ideally we’d have taken Mack Wilson round 5 or something to help defend the run, and had Telvin Smith still going strong. Now, we are legit just going to keep giving up absurd yards on the ground / over the middle until we get another game changer at LB.
