I can see the 49ers crumbling down the stretch. Beating the AFC North isnt worth much this year...their Nov/Dec schedule is brutal by comparison.

I know you're joking, but, might as well for PP as well. Both he and Ramsey could be extended to free up cap space for 2020-2021; and that defense could be right back to being horrifying in that stretch.

No idea what they do come 2022; but if they haven't won a Super Bowl by then, you basically do what the Bengals are doing to Dalton this year and let Goff got murdered on every drop back as punishment for not getting them there

 

I think SF will come down to earth but still make the playoffs.

Maybe a better coaching staff could have developed Mariota better, but I’ve watched too many good QBs succeed with stale bread coaches to not also say that Mariota isn’t all that good

 

It says a lot that functionally no offensive weapon has developed into anything useful (whether it be a WR like Corey Davis, a QB like Mariotta, or hell, even Dion Lewis and Derrick Henry being meh).

But yeah, if you're getting replaced (and outplayed) by Tannehill, something wasnt gonna work out for you. There is a lovely irony that both were basically ruined by the same thing.
