Yalls game was similar to ours where Mahomes lit things up and then aggregated the ankle and looked like a shell of himself, yeah? That was my impression in the little bit I watched

 

Idk I was with my kids at the park

Had to pick a game to miss between this and Texas-OU, picked this since it's easier to watch later

From what I've heard though it's a combination of that and the OL failing

Sports radio/media is already a disaster. Ugh

 

The formula is, no lie, batshit crazy. Like it just weights a few things almost at random and says "here's a number!". Its apparently based on league data from 1960-1970; and a 66 passer rating would be average....whereas today we consider that reason to bench someone

 

I wish ESPN hadnt fucked up QBR so bad by trying to make it a "clutch" stat early on. Maybe they've fixed it since then, but it was as laughably bad as passer rating early on.

 

It hasn't been fixed it's still awful

 

I actually liked the Sidney pick given that he dropped into the second round and I thought it was worthy the gamble. However, it’s just frustrating to see how the 2019 draft has planned out for us. I loved the Dillard pick and still do because Peters seems unable to make it through a full game these days, but the second round picks have turned out bad so far. Sanders has looked good in the passing game, but he’s been bad as a runner. Then there’s JJAW, who can’t even get on the field ahead of Mack Hollins while other rookie WRs are producing right away. Then there are the two fourth round picks which have turned out to be wastes. It’s not good.

 

But we need a statistical way to validate our biases around a few plays at the end of a game/season!

 

JJAW is gonna suck this year. His skillset coming out was "jump high and be tall". I'd bet on him next year though

 

Now we just need a football metric that’s like WAR, but it only factors in the last 3 games and is heavily skewed towards the last game played

Edit: oh wait we already basically have that with PFF player grades

 

Damn shame.

The NCAA system, btw, kind of beautiful in its simplicity. And it would be so easy to tweak as the game changes (weight TDs or INTs more, value yards less, etc). You gotta love a system that can assign a rating to a QB who only throws 99yd TDs all game.

 

I love the idea of a QB that completes every pass as a 99 yard loss

 

its not really fair to bash JJAW to me. If Desean Jackson was healthy and playing and doing what everyone knows he can do, no one would care about JJAW

Hes clearly going to be the replacement for Alshon in a year or so

 

Give me a stat that assigns a value to the lateral of each of these players

 

Some impressive players with lateral ratings of 78.4

 

He had a 91.2 last season. Cut him.

 

It's the other player's fault for running backwards causing the yards lost per lateral to increase

IMO you should probably rest him until after the 11/21 game. Can’t be too safe

 

IMO you should DEFINITELY play him in the Jags game
