Hey man if y’all are starting a team I’m just saying I’m the one who watches film . I actually am really starting to understand defensive concepts on a level I never did before.

 

You watch film to make up for your natural ignorance. Dustin and I are prodigies. You dont need to stretch or watch film. You think we watched film on the Nazis in WW1 and WW2?

 

I watch film because it’s easier for me to have objective opinions if I’m given context. I don’t like going off of stats alone because I’ve found a lot of situations where they can be misleading.

For instance, judging a RB by YPC when the blocking, the scheme, and the context of how much the defense expects the run vs how much they catch the defense off guard all affects that number a lot too.

Melvin Gordon had shitty YPC when he entered the league but it really wasn’t his fault at all, the Chargers’ transition from a bad zone line to a solid power line was very awkward.

Like, you might think during the game that your QBs and WRs are playing like shit but then watch the film and realize it’s more so because your OC kept trying to challenge the deep seam and sidelines against Cover 4 and putting your players in no-win situations on third downs.
