I really wanted the Lions to draft N’Keal Harry. I think he’s going to end up a star.

 

That’s fair. To date, Foles definitely has the more proven track record.

Speaking to projected 2019 performance of the two, I don’t think it’s as cut and dry. The circumstances are set up much better for Brissett to succeed than 2017 (it’s not Chud’s miserable offense, he’s been on the team for more than 10 days before starting his first game, the supporting cast is less bad). I’d be surprised and disappointed if he didn’t do better than those 2017 stats, though your guess as to how much better is as good as mine.

 

This really puts it into perspective. I get that athletes are priveleged to make so much money that they can quit at 29 while poor people constantly have to work unhealthy until they’re old. But also it doesn’t matter how much money you make. If you’re unhappy, you’re unhappy.

Human beings have limits and being a professional athlete really pushes those limits cause you really do deal with a lot more traumatic damage to your body, and a lot higher expectations of public scrutiny / responsibility, than people are equipped to deal with. Money straight up does not matter when it gets to the point where you cannot live your life.

Thoughts on Hairston?

 

He looked real promising in 2017 and then didn’t really take a step forward last year. Probably best as a slot CB, but has the potential to start there and perform reasonably well as early as this year.

 

Laura just told me our electric bill is estimated to be ~$300 this month?! What in the goddamn hell

 

We needed depth and depth with starting experience both outside and in the slot is good news for our CB group.

 

Most I've ever paid was $120, shit my dad pays less for his like 20 bedroom house

Yeah I’m gonna say nope on Texas. Would only deal with that bullshit for Austin.

 

Atlanta was like highs of 95-98 for two weeks and still 87-90 at night; and very humid. That sucked. Florida is like that all summer. I can not imagine dealing with 110s.

Right now I'm saying nope on Texas too and if I didn't have kids I probably would've been gone a couple years ago

 

At least y’all have one city that is worth it and you’re going there. And put it like this, a lot of my friends in Jax can’t leave cause they have kids there. So imagine that.

 

I put in a second zone HVAC system and it helped reduce electric/gas costs pretty significantly

 

I have to do that in the next couple years probably and I’m not looking forward to it. At least lower utility bills are one benefit
