Funny. I was USAA and my full coverage was like $450 a month (each accident I’ve been in, despite no injuries / low speed impact, was a super expensive repair - I break tie rods like NFL players tear ACLs. also speeding tickets....) so then I switched to comprehensive coverage. Then some dude slammed on his brakes while I was trying to get into his lane behind him and now I don’t have a car. *thumbs up* *party* *confetti*

Yeap, it's pretty easy and super fast. Also cheap. Or I'm not sure how many parts of jersey have ferries but you could have taken the one from jersey city.

    What the hell hahahaha

I was Farmers and was paying like $200 a month to start off, then it ramped up to ~$400 and I switched to USAA for about $150

is New Hampshire the only state where you don't need car insurance?

    Nope. Supporter

Our toll road keeps like deleting my credit card I have on file, it just auto-deducts your account for the toll whenever you use the road, but I don't use it all that often so I never know when it's below the threshold (it charges you $35 every time it dips below $10). Over the last 4 months i've gotten a bunch of letters saying that my account is overdrawn and instead of the normal $35 I have an $80 bill each time cause it's just accumulating my toll fee without a card on file to charge, I've had to call them 5 times to them them i've re-added my card to my account and it's not saving or whatever, real fun stuff

    I’m not
I just have a bad driving record. And I could sit here and make excuses for why half of my 5-6 minor accidents weren’t my fault, or I could sit here with a tin foil hat and talk about how traffic cops write speeding tickets to tax us and document us for crimes rather than for public safety. But the bottom line is careful / patient drivers don’t have my driving record haha. So I’m just gonna have to say im impatient and aggressive, something I picked up from learning to drive in DC, and I probably deserve to have to start from scratch again and bike for a year or two until I can afford another car

But the silver lining is not paying for insurance, gas, tolls, updated tags, parking, car note, repairs, traffic & parking tickets... is such a weight off my chest. It’s easy to think of a owning a car as one expense, but it’s literally 8 different expenses you pay to have that freedom. I’m working class rn and that shit drains you dry. I kinda want to get into a programming school and have a professional skill before I get a car again.

Having to be on a bike is a big factor in why I moved to ATL cause it’s really fun to be on a bike here. From the fact that like 80% of the city is covered in shade from trees, to the fact they’re building an entire “Beltline” that connects the whole city which is a highway for bikes , scooters and pedestrians. I can enjoy all of East Atlanta and get to Midtown, Decatur and Stone Mountain occasionally by bike pretty easily.

I think this plan specifically would take 25yrs total to do the whole thing. The major cities would get them earlier, then the next biggest cities would get them and so on.

It is 3yrs old though, I'm sure there are some other cool proposals that are better or faster out by now.

    there is one way out

I would take this all the time.

Also, my car insurance would be so cheap if it wasn't for my wife. She's an awful driver.
