I hate pies of all kinds. I like cheesecake though.

I think cheesecake/key lime/pumpkin could be classified as inverted pies? Seeing as the filling is on the outside instead of inside

Apple Pie, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Pie, Blueberry Pie, give me all the pie. Only if it has a good crust though.

Well literally the only exception necessary to point out is that not all pies have a top crust. Some of them just have it on the sides and bottom.

 

I didn’t know that, I thought pies all had a top crust.

Only pie I can eat is pumpkin pie, and that is only on thanksgiving. Something about the texture of the filling inside of normal pies just is gross to me

 

Pie over cake any day of the week.

Pumpkin Pie is by far the worst pie IMO.

 

I love pie but I also love savory food, so there’s always a huge contradiction

Pie, culturally, is only ever baked and served after long extravagant meals and I usually get seconds and thirds of dinner on Thanksgiving / Easter / whatever so I never have space for the pie. I always end up not eating it until there’s like a slice left in the fridge the next day.

 

Like imma go ham on them mashed potatoes and roasted meats with gravy, y’all better recognize

Really? I always find diner pie cold, hard, and like, overly flaky in a bad way.

I guess I ain’t been going to “legitimate diners.” (Even though there’s world class ones in DC and I’ve been to the famous ones in Nashville.)

 

@spiffa0 let me clarify... I am big on home cooked pie or like pie from a professional bakery. I am lukewarm on average pie that’s just been sitting in the restaurant cooler for days.

 

The only pie I like is banana cream and that's barely a "traditional" pie

 

Legit bakery pies and homemade pies are great. A GOOD diner pie is also great. There are many bad diners. But the diners I'm talking about also typically operate as a bakery.
