Again, they're worth re-signing at a reasonable rate. Tying up potentially 8.5% of my salary cap in todd gurley sounds like a NIGHTMARE.

CMC has no durability concerns now but a RB that sees the field for almost 100 percent of snaps is going to get hurt.

Why? He takes 65-70% of the attention of the defense off of Goff and makes it way easier for McVay to catch them off guard or by surprise.

Another wave of top RB talent has recently returned and in my very unpopular, controversial opinion, we should act accordingly and start valuing the contributions of RB more again. I really do think that period where RBs were “devalued” was a phase due to a lack of young talent at the time, and is not a continuing trend.

...because he's already so injured the Rams felt the need to use one of their only picks on a Running Back?

Where the fuck is this 65-70% of defensive attention for Gurley coming from when Cooks, Woods, and Kupp are out there running routes?

Like...he's a non-factor in their Super Bowl run, and then they draft a RB in the first round and you're just like "nah, checks out, sign me up baby!!"

That’s called depth. Yeah, they lost embarrassingly because their offense was in shambles without a rushing attack. They need to be able to call the same variety of plays even when Gurley is out. Doesn’t change the fact that Gurley facilitates that better than anyone when he’s in the game.

A first round pick is inherently meant to be a starter. Any GM who uses their first round pick for the sole purpose of a backup should be fired on the spot.

I remember reading somewhere that the Pats defense struggled last year against 12 personnel. Makes you wonder why McVay didn’t implement his TEs more in the SB. That played a much larger role to their loss than Gurley’s lack of efficiency did.

You know who else was a non factor in the super bowl? Goff. Lol

MJD and Foster were old at that point though. You’re mostly talking about SECOND extensions in the “bad” section of your post. I am strictly arguing that the FIRST extension, the one they sign when they are still young like 24/25, is worth the money.

You keep saying this. Oakland took Josh Jacobs, not LA,

And it’s about time. If he sucks on the Jets I’ll eat my words. I really don’t think that’s gonna happen though.

K...I goofed it's the 3rd round. I'll own up to that.

I think Bell is gonna suck on the Jets with that coaching staff and a poor OL. Not to mention Gase doesn’t like throwing to his RBs much

I think Bell will be fine and that will hurt Randall's argument even more

Idk man no one is saying you can’t dominate with both

Jags had zero passing attack at all and still were playoff contenders in the mid 2000s behind both MJD and Taylor

How does that hurt my argument haha. If the Jets get a strong season from him and get close to making the playoffs because of it that’s a little bit of vindication for me.
