09, 12, and 19 are my favorites plus 04.

 

I didn’t get turned onto them until 09 unfortunately, but I still play it with the same squad as back then

 

04 was great because the hit stick was ABSURD. You could just straight up high stick people in the face lol

I rented it from the library when I was very young. You could play as any NFL team, you’d call your play, and it’d ask you a question like “Dan Marino is 1st in the league in pass yards. John Elway is 4 behind him. Where does John Elway rank in pass yards?” And if you picked the right answer it’d play a little animation and your play would go well and if you got it wrong you’d throw an interception or something.

 

Yeah 09 was the last one with the more violent, arcadey collisions I think. I miss being able to just slam people into the boards, and being able to screw around after the play. This year you get a second and a half after the whistle

 

My other weird childhood NFL game

What you mean you didn’t own the weird early 2000s football card game where you’d swipe cards in a weird machine and it’d tell you a result based on the plays you picked and the players you have?

There was a baseball version too but it used dice like dungeons and dragons instead of swipable cards with barcodes on them
