This year's team is deeper at the skill positions, has Dillard as a third tackle and is much improved at CB

The only real downgrade is defensive line depth, but there's still plenty of talent there

 

Chiefs D is good on paper, but they were bottom 10 in points and bottom 2 in yards, and that was before they lost every known named starter. Changing to a 4-3 and adding Clark/Mathieu doesnt suddenly make them top 10.

And they have lost their RBs and probably their star WR to off-field stuff, so is their offense even going to be as good?

Putting them at #7 feels like "well they have Mahomes so it'll just magically work out"

JAGS OFFENSE EXPLAINED

QB - beat the Patriots in the SB in a very Eli Manning-esque way where you know he could just as easily be awful the next season

RB - we should have realized that, taking a player who has a lot of attitude on and off the field, kinda sucks when they spend most of that time OFF the field

WR - A) *void, there is no “A”*. B) the former third best WR on the Chiefs and now the best WR on the Jags. Which says a lot. C) Pregnant woman abuser who people cheer for just cause he’s fast D) tall, strong, and fast but barely has better ball skills than the CBs E) this undrafted dude bout to be out the league if he drops this many passes again F) doesn’t count because he’s LITERALLY always hurt

FB - Toby Gerhart? Is that you?

TE - like a poor man’s Evan Engram. Exciting & well rounded but from a small school. We will see if he can handle the jump in competition. Would much rather try this than spend what we were spending on ASJ.

LT - fucking boss ass 330 pound gospel drummer, who moves in small spaces like a sumo wrestler, and rolled people out the damn way like rugs in college. Literally my favorite player on the offense right now.

LG - go back to Carolina. It’ll be better for both of us. You are not a zone blocker. And right now you are essentially getting paid some of Jalen Ramsey’s money.

C - kind of like a Chess bishop in that he is lethal when zone blocking diagonally but cannot do shit with the dude directly in front of him. Chess is a good analogy though because he actually is very smart and good at play recognition. Just don’t power run behind him.

RG - his last name directly contradicts his success with blocking. He was a good college guard who Cann’t ever execute a seal block or recognize stunts at the NFL level. Very basic skillset despite being athletic. Wise up or get out of the way.

RT - we are slaves to ACL injuries. We literally have two drafted tackles rehabbing ACL injuries. This dude either bounces back AND is able to play on the opposite side or, more likely given the Jags terrible luck.... we just have a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde backup who fills in surprisingly well half the time and the other half ruins the whole game. Who is also coming off an injury.

So yeah basically keep dreaming if any Jags fan thinks we are gonna move the ball any better this year lol. I just love Jawaan Taylor. Another injured year from Fournette would automatically mean another shitty offensive season.
