I’m definitely a grinch and can’t stand the holidays.

 

I used to love Christmas when I was little. Not sure if it was the service industry or just growing older that has made me not love it as much

 

The overwhelming amount of that feeling of obligation has sucked the joy out of it for me.

 

Yup same - especially coming from an upper middle class family and not having that much money to get people things (or knowing what to get a bunch of people who can get anything they want)

 

And having to attend different Christmas events or whatever and having to shop around a million other people shopping...it's all just very not fun

 

Oh I will !

 

Like, I care about my extended family and hope they’re well but I don’t need to buy shit or hang out with all 30+ of them for a big ass Christmas when we literally talk 0% of the remaining part of the year! Lol

Maybe it’s selfish, idk, but I can’t stand my big yearly family Christmas, haha. My immediate family is like 5 or 6 people and that’s actually enjoyable.

And then there’s friend Christmas shit which can get to be a pain, too.

Guys, you know why I love Christmas ? Because I love getting presents.

I really don't, I'd rather just get myself things I want, if Christmas was just hanging out for one day a year having family time and no gift giving I'd like it way more

 

Know the tomahawk chop the Chiefs fans do? The Braves fans do it too.

I actually tend to think of FSU when I think of the chop haha. That’s 3 teams with the same fan celebration

 

I do my best to never think about FSU

 

Grew up in north FL so I can’t help it. But I do hate that team for Winston getting drafted first overall after the college covered up a rape case with tons of soft evidence

 

TBH I’ve never heard of “the chop” but I’m guessing it’s problematic

 

Brian Regan has a really dumb bit about it that I like

 

It’s when a bunch of white people do almost a mocking imitation of a singsong Native American chant and move their hand in a chopping motion. You’ve never seen that? Strong example of cultural appropriation in sports lol.

At least we’re called the Braves and not the Redskins though.

 

Lol I’ve seen my dad in literal tears watching Brian Reagan, which is not common. I think he’s funny but my dad is probably his top demographic (middle aged white man)

 

It’s especially lame when the chop is also a football referee’s hand gesture for a first down. That gesture already means something really key to the game lol

 

He was like the first standup I REALLY listened to so I have a soft spot for him but yeah that's definitely his top demographic or just like centrist white households in general

 

Bill Burr making fun of it is pretty funny.
