This is sickening. Imagine using your wealth to crush an oppressed people and then celebrating it. And this headline is gross too, he’s pledging to suppress Palestinian human rights causes and further Israel’s influence. Fuck the nfl.

 

Okay, story time. A couple of things for context. This involves my roommate Isaac, his girlfriend Amanda, and my girlfriend Avanti. Also, my girlfriend and I did not in any way want to be characters in this story. We were pretty forced into it.

Last Saturday:

My girlfriend and I decided to order breakfast. We do this pretty often on the weekend. I went downstairs to pick it up and found my roommate's girlfriend Amanda sitting against our front door. She immediately packs up her stuff and starts heading inside. I don't think much of it until she says "Isaac probably wouldn't like that I'm here right now." WTF? So I kinda press her on that. Apparently, they got into a fight the night before, he left her apartment and never returned. He also didn't come back to our apartment. He just went rogue. She bunkered down in his room while I frantically tried to call Isaac. His phone was off. No response. No text back. Nothing.

So she's locked in his room with the lights off and no TV on. We assume she is honestly just sitting in the dark waiting for him to return to continue the fight. Avanti and I decide to hang out in the living room, not trying to get involved, but at least trying to keep an eye on the situation in case she does something crazy. She did say after all that he wouldn't want her there, so reasonable suspicion.

1 hour passes. 2 hours pass. 3 hours pass. 4 hours pass. 5 hours pass. NOTHING. No response from Isaac, no movement from the room. Mexican standoff. By hour 6 we finally give up and start getting ready to leave for dinner. Amanda finally emerges from Isaac's room and tries to come into mine where my girlfriend and I are getting dressed. I shoo her away and tell her I'll come to find her in a minute. I do, and she proceeds to like breakdown telling me all of her and Isaac's biggest problems. Not gonna break those down, but it was some deeply personal shit. I've talked to her maybe like 5 times in the year and a half we've known each other. I am def not the guy to cry to in this situation, but here we are. Still nothing from Isaac. Not a word. She eventually leaves after having her breakdown. 15 minutes after she leaves, Isaac finally responds telling me not to let her in. Little late dude...

Monday:

We have still heard nothing from Isaac. We've pieced together some clues from what she said, and have assumed they're gonna break up. We wake up Monday to find all of her shit packed up in the living room. Clearly, Isaac came back in the middle of the night and packed up her stuff before leaving again. All he's confirmed to me so far is he's still alive. Have not laid eyes on him, have not really spoken to him other than his text from Saturday.

Tuesday:

My girlfriend works from home, so if someone comes into the house, she knows about it. Somehow, Isaac and Amanda were able to get into the house without either of us knowing, because all of Amanda's stuff in the living-room is now gone. I assume they apparated in Harry Potter style.


Thursday:

This is where I got the urge to tell you guys. We had a running joke anytime we saw a black jeep throughout the week of "Oh, Amanda's here" because while she was barricaded in Isaac's room last Saturday, her jeep was outside the whole time. It was a stupid inside joke, no biggie. As I'm bringing food upstairs, I catch a glance out the window and see a black jeep parked outside my home. It was her. She was parked outside, just sitting there. Waiting. Again, I call Isaac. No response. She's just sitting out there. My girlfriend and I watch her from the window for 15 minutes just sitting out there before she eventually gets out of the car and rings the doorbell. It's the fucking mannequin challenge in the house now. NOBODY MOVE. I didn't want to let her in. Isaac didn't want me to, and honestly, I felt like she had been putting me in an unfair position last Saturday, and Isaac was putting me in one by not responding. So we ignored her because we wanted out of this story. I didn't want to have to guard my house or hem and haw about why she couldn't come in. Messy people deal with themselves. I called Isaac again and his voicemail is full. This dude hasn't been home in a week to deal with his drama, hasn't had the courtesy to get involved so I don't need to be anymore, and doesn't even have the courtesy to answer the phone. Wtf. Eventually, she gave up on the doorbell and went back to the car where she waited for a few more minutes before finally giving up.


This is where we stand now. My roommate trying to ghost his girlfriend of a year and a half, her not letting him, both being wildly immature and inappropriate and both leaving me stuck in the middle. He eventually called me back and said "we're in the process of breaking up." How does breaking up take a week? Why is she camped out outside the house? How is any of this okay??

 

THE THREAD HAS ENTERED DAVEWATCH

 

What I'm most confused about (outside of the points made in your last paragraph) is why does she keep waiting outside of your place when Isaac has not been there? Amanda seems like she could do a better job at hunting him down outside of staking out the apartment to accost Isaac.

 

WE HAVE NO IDEA! When she rang the doorbell, she knew he wasn't home because his truck wasn't there. That's what made me so mad is she rang the doorbell purposefully to put me in an awkward position for the second time.

 

I went outside thinking like...maybe she left him a note or something? That'd make sense. Nothing doing there either.

 

I hope it doesn't escalate further

But if it does we need updates

 

I took all of this past week off and am back at work today and this story is my main distraction for today so far

 

I've decided the next time it happens, I need to put an end to it. Because now, it's making me personally uncomfortable. It's not just an annoying thing she's doing but it's very uncomfortable.

"Amanda, he's not here. Idk where he is, but you can't do this. I'm not going to let you inside again, he's asked me not to. If he wants to, that's his deal, but I'm not going to be put in this awkward position anymore. Please, go home."

Something like that.

 

That was like a Randall analysis post of a CW show.

 

My life has become a bad CW show.

 

I'm going to be honest and say all of that was a cluster fuck and you lost me.

 

I tried to keep it pretty straightforward, but honestly it has been a clusterfuck in real life.

Also, I like the idea that police in the tri-state area are marshaling resources to search for a pair of nude women carrying armloads of Bell's belongings.

 

Dave, what are the ages of these people? And do they work and make money and are responsible adults, etc... otherwise?

 

Isaac is 31, Amanda is late 20s? They both work, are both responsible adults.

 

Damn. Seems out of character. Must be weird issues or situations causing the breakup.
