We probably couldn’t afford what he deserves if we extended him THIS ysar

 

We will likely cut Calais Campbell after 2020 to extend Ramsey, probably also waiting to see if Telvin Smith returns or if he retires to determine our cap situation

 

We could also franchise him and buy ourselves ANOTHER year because his extension will probably cost even more than the franchise tag, which is an average of the top 5 CB contracts. He deserves the top 1 CB contract.

I just think it makes a lot of sense to

1) sign Yannick and Myles first, since their contracts are up after 2019 and they don’t get a fifth year option
2) give Calais Campbell two more years on the team instead of one since he’s still good.
3) Make sure we can afford that $20M-$23M AAV that Ramsey is likely to get in 2020 by signing him *after* Jack & Myles deals have been frontloaded and Campbell has been cut

We have 2 years, 3 if we franchise him. I’m not worried. The Jaguars will take care of their best player.

Vernon is definitely not as good as Jordan

 

Jordan also stays healthy and is a beast EVERY year, doesn't really have "down years", so he deserves that $42m gtd
