The only reason I get to (and this year, "have to") watch the Texans at noon every Sunday without a blackout is the Cowboys getting that afternoon Fox game and I'm so thankful for it (until this year)

 

Then I'll re-phrase: if you have watched Dak more than anyone other than Tom, I don't think you are fair in your judgement of his play, especially when comparing it to every other QB.

Like the Cowboys, window is already about to close. Once they pay who they're gonna need to pay their roster is gonna be incredibly top heavy. I would have preferred they draft a QB last year or this year, try and hit on it, develop him, and maybe you can put more money towards top-flight talent than giving it to Dak because he's been kinda okay at the most important position.

 

Okay so this is a discussion for a different day, but i have never loved a trade quite like I love the Rosen trade for you haha.

 

Losing record, mediocre stats, and no playoff wins. Could've had Dwayne Haskins, who stands a real chance at winning more games than the Lions this year.

 

You know I was going back and looking at Carson's Wentz stats from last year, I'm not sure where people got the preception he played bad or awful. His numbers tell different.

 

And I think that's where my whole argument comes from, I don't think the window is closing. I think they can pay Dak and Cooper, and they can rebuild the OL as they need to, they can rebuild the front 7 after LVE/Jaylon are too expensive, I think they can afford to let people at less important positions than QB walk because they're good enough at drafting to replace those other positions.

 

Because Nick won the Bowl and Foles didn't follow it up the next year with another ring?

 

The Lions are a whole other story because they kept themselves from making good moves in free agency (outside of a couple) due to the contract but also drafted badly and coached badly

 

I don't even like Josh Rosen but it was basically a no brainer given what they gave up

they essentially traded a 2nd this year for Rosen and a 2nd next year

 

The only players I'm worried about losing is Byron Jones and then possibly Zeke. We have more than enough money to sign everyone else that's due.

Hell, the three main guys on our offensive line are signed until 2024/2025 right now before any negotiations or extensions.

 

I forget the list so bear with me here, but the last time I drove dino nuts with this we wound up talking about the players the Cowboys NEED to sign. And their projected cost, it was like 7 guys, was like 50% of the cap or something like that. It was outrageous. I remember going through the past like 10 Super Bowl winners looking for anything comparable and found nothing.

 

Zeke, Dak and Amari are gonna be CRAAAAAAZY money.

 

Especially Amari, WRs always command ridiculous money.

 

I figured it out a few months back but the Cowboys are definitely fucked on the cap

I don't see any way BYron Jones or Lael Collins are re-signed

 

The Cowboys have been one of the best drafting front offices of the last 5 or so years, so I'll trust them to handle these next big contracts.

Good teams sign their best and most important players and let others walk. Happens every season.

 

Anyways sports are the worst and I’ll probably never see the lions do well so if I can watch a player that makes games fun sometimes for me I take it at this point

La'el Collins will be gone and should be. He hasn't done much to be worth signing again.

 

Yeah I think they both walk and I think that's okay

Safety market is fucked and Collins is pretty overrated

I snagged Rosen as my backup in madden for the fun of it. He plays the 4th quarter for me. He is like 6th in the league in every stat.
