Brady was 18th in Cmp%, 16th in TD%, 13th in Int%, 13th in Y/A, etc... last year, so he's obviously average to below average, right?

Looking at stats alone in a vacuum with zero context and then searching out lowlights for players on YouTube is the worst way to identify if someone is good or not. It's as stupid as looking at only highlights to explain how great someone is.

I don't have the stats off hand, but Dak was top ten statistically nearly across the board with Cooper on the team for the remainder of the year. But again, looking at only stats is still misleading.

Overall, he's about 12th-16th best QB in the league, which is average to above average and what I've maintained for quite some time now.

 

Yeah, who even has a situation in need of fixing? Tennessee is the only team in the NFL without an entrenched starter.

 

Paying the 15th best QB like he's the Best QB in the league is a one way ticket to being the Detroit Lions.

I'm not advocating the Patriots model here because like...how many other best QB ever are gonna have Supermodel wives who make football a hobby as opposed to a career.

But there are much better ways to win a Superbowl than unload a huge portion of your cap to MEH at QB lol

In general I can kinda understand that

From the Cowboys perspective, who have KILLED it in the draft with McClay over the years and where they got extremely lucky to find Dak at the exact time they did, I'd say they can afford to overpay a QB more than most teams because their scouting department can fill in holes as they come up easily, and McClay is gonna be there for a long long long time

 

For the record, I'm saying "franchise" very liberally.

 

I’ll pay Stafford that deal every single day of the week. He gives us a chance to win every time we go out there and was a much better alternative than the trash we were putting out before

 

I've gotten to the point this argument is fucking stupid, every player wants stupid money and QBs want that money especially. You gotta spend to keep those players.

I've watched Dak play more than almost any other QB in the league not named Tom. You do you if you're jazzed to have him for 5 more years taking up a huge chunk of your cap. I'd be pissed.

It comes down to whether you want to be extremely risky in the draft or free agency hoping you hit on another above average QB or pay the one you already have. I think it's an easy decision.

I'm sorry, but I just don't believe this. Over half of his starts he ends the game with a passer rating over 100 and has only lost like 1 of those games. Like, that simply does not happen with a bad quarterback. Ever.

Dude, I don't know what it is but the fucking cowboys on Fox every Sunday at 4:25. It's like a fucking curse.

 

Like.. the amount of bad football I had to watch before Stafford was insane. Is Stafford the best? Hell no. But every week I go in knowing he gives us at least a chance. Last season was rough for him, no doubt. But I believe he’s going to bounce back.
