I simultaneously think the Wentz deal is too much and also think it’s a good thing the Eagles signed him anyway. I legit agree with both arguments.

I agree with Eagle fans:
-The Eagles chance of replacing Wentz is next to none
-they were smart to get the deal done before Dak and Goff

I agree with @CarpetElf
-$108M guaranteed is a LOT after heavy injury concerns and the Eagles are being VERY bullish and risky betting on his health like that
-Giving him the highest contract *after incentives* rather than the highest base / guaranteed contract would’ve made more sense in context

I agree with @preppyak
-No good QB under 30 should take less than what Cousins got
-Its laughable this QB class is gonna make WAY MORE than Russell Wilson because of Cousins

I agree with all this I'm just really tired of hearing Matt make the same argument over and over when all the QBs coming up for contracts including newly extended Wentz are much better than a lot of the guys who have big contracts right now (sans the obvious like Ryan/Rodgers/etc) and doesn't give us any time to fucking breathe before he goes back to the same shit argument again

 

You might have to leave the thread when Deshaun Watson gets resigned then lol.

Cause if anyone deserves even more than Wentz... and is likely to get it... it’s Watson haha

Yeah. I want a good QB baaaadly and the Jags legit haven’t had one since I was 9 years old, so I just tend to refrain from criticizing other teams from signing theirs. This may be the one topic where I am a more humbled Jags fan than Matt lol
