Fair market value. Not my money. I don’t give a fuck.

    154/6 is 25M AAV.

That is actually a steal. Slots him right in between Big Ben The Sexual Assault Man & Eli Manning.

Someday if you draft a QB who is somehow miraculously not dog shit, you’ll get to do this second contract deal with what many believe to be a top quarterback in the league.

Yeah yeah I know. And someday, I'll get to sit by while that quarterback continually fails to stay healthy and his back-up goes on to have greater success than he ever will. That's the dream.

I'd pay Wentz $200 million guaranteed tbh

That's just a baffling deal to try and defend haha. Most guaranteed money ever to someone who has, in all seriousness, had one elite season and has had the last two derailed by two separate injuries that are notably difficult to recover from. Giving him the most incentive loaded contract makes far more sense.

Again, not my money and it’s very clear the Eagles and the medical staff aren’t as concerned as you about his ability to be on the field.

Kirk Cousins, a QB nobody would argue is even really top 10 at any point, got $107 million fully guaranteed over 4 seasons (1 on franchise with WAS, 3 with MIN)...so, any QB under the age of 30 or with more success than Cousins (so a solid half of them) should accept nothing less than that.

Though, the idea that Wentz/Goff/Dak might make more than Russell Wilson is laughable.

Is it a gamble? Sure it is. But if he comes back this season with a replication of 2017-2018 then this number next year is astronomically higher than it is now. It’s all a risk but anytime you give a contract like this, isn’t that kinda just the way it goes?

I’m glad they got it done before Dak/Goff since this is just going to send their new deals even higher.

Save your mockery for the Dak contract

Though I will say, the mistake on Wentz is not making him play out the 2020 season before this deal. They have him for $22mil in 2020, and $26mil in 2021 on a franchise tag...so they just handed him $50mil more than they had to when he's coming off back-to-back injured seasons.

A lot of teams do this backwards though...they rush to sign thir big stars to insane deals rather than take much smaller risks on more early mid-level player deals and making their stars play out a franchise tag.

Problem is by waiting, Dak and Goff get their new deals which raises this new deal Wentz got. Then if they wait into next year even worse is when Mahomes gets what I’m sure is going to blow all these deals out of the water then that doesn’t help either.

Also, it’s fair to say let’s see what the signing bonus is up front, I bet they put a lot of this guarantee number in the up front costs which changes things a bit.

At least I'm not on the Goff > Wentz train haha. I'm just saying this was a bad move. Will probably be saying it about Goff and Dak too.

28-32 a year is the amount to sign a franchise QB these days, so if you want one you’re gonna have to spend it. Gotta sign good players.
